A celebration of sensuality

Not long ago a picture book caught our eye. It is called ‘Personal’ by Vincent Peters. Its photographs are a celebration of femininity and sensuality – showing both: the stronger sex’s strength and fragility. The photos and their protagonists have somehow a straightforward and at the same time classical look. The perspective is genuine, lights and shadows are perfectly set. Highly aesthetic images that seem to be like a movie still.

Vincent Peters was born in Bremen to our amazement. He moved to New York at the age of 20 to start working as a photo assistant, now ranking as one of the best of his kind. While working under the Giovanni Testino agency (who is an icon himself), he shot many campaigns for great brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and high fashion companies like Dior, Louis Vuitton or Emporio Armani. Vogue, GQ and Numeró, to name only a few, are magazines that regularly publish his editorial work. But these are just footnotes – just as the names of the people portrayed: stars like Penélope Cruz, Linda Evangelista, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Watson, Irina Shayk and many more who are captured by Peters’ camera.

Much more impressive are the deep inside views that are given in the 240 pages: stars never seen so close and intimate, pouring out their self in impressive images. Nude photographs of striking sensuality. You almost feel the mutual trust between model and photographer, who works out an extraordinary atmosphere with skilled experience: creating proximity at the same time as keeping distance. Really amazing. As we try to prove with every collection that the perfect outfit for a man is characterized by one thing: it speaks for itself – this book and its photographs speak for themselves. And give you a strong idea of the aesthetic power of feminine beauty.
